What's is Lamplet?

Lamplet is a light-weight basic website skeleton that provides a starting point to build web applications or sites. It's also a useful tool for beginning PHP developers to learn simple methods for dynamically creating web applications. Lamplet is a quick way to start web projects without having to build all the dynamics from scratch.

What's in a name?

• L.A.M.P. - Is a "stack" of technologies consisting of Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.
• Applet - Small application that is housed and launched by a larger application.
• Lamplet is a contracted mash-up of the two terms.

Compared to the LAMP "stack", Lamplet is small. In a twisted sort of way, it's an applet that runs on the larger LAMP "stack".
